| Robertson returns to the court at full strength this season after missing all of 2007-08 following hip surgery in April '07 ... initially hoped to return during the year but elected to take a medical redshirt early in the Pac-10 schedule ... provides leadership, maturity and stability for the Bears ... can play virtually any position on the court and is most natural at the small forward spot ... began his sophomore year on the wing before moving inside following injuries to a pair of Cal big men ... plays well around the basket and can also step out to three-point range, where he is a career 38.8 percent shooter ... has 41 career starts entering the season.
As a Sophomore in 2006-07: Due to injuries to two of Cal's centers - DeVon Hardin and Jordan Wilkes - Robertson played much of the year at power forward despite his 6-6 frame ... responded admirably with 8.8 ppg and 4.3 rpg, starting all 33 contests ... scored 12 points vs. Chicago State and 13 points against San Diego to claim all-tournament honors in the Golden Bear Classic ... scored a career-best 21 points in a home win vs. Oregon State (6-8 FG, 1-1 3P, 8-10 FT) ... also had 19 points at Oregon and 16 points vs. UCLA in consecutive games in January ... led the Bears with 27 steals and was third on the squad with nine blocks ... had 17 points vs. Oregon in the Pac-10 Tournament semifinals ... recipient of Cal's Best Defensive Player award after the season.
As a Freshman in 2005-06: Started in place of an injured Leon Powe (foot) the first four games of the year and averaged 11.8 ppg on 54.8 percent field goal shooting during the span ... had 12 points in the opener at Eastern Michigan and followed with 14 points vs. Long Beach State and 13 points against Northern Colorado ... ranked second on the squad in three-point accuracy (40.7%) and drained 10 of his final 14 attempts... came off the bench for 10 points at Arizona State and 11 points at Arizona in January ... his free throw with five seconds left gave Cal a three-point lead in an eventual 62-60 win at Oregon ... after Omar Wilkes sprained an ankle, started consecutive home games vs. Stanford, Arizona and Arizona State in mid-February ... finished with eight points, including 2-of-2 on three-pointers, against the Cardinal and with 12 points (5-7 FG) vs. the Wildcats ... played well at Washington Feb. 26 with 13 points ... his three-pointer with 29 seconds left in regulation tied the score and sent the March 2 UCLA game into overtime ... played extremely well in the Pac- 10 Tournament, averaging 9.3 ppg (7-11 FG, 5-7 3P, 9-10 FT) in three games ... finished with eight points vs. USC, then poured in a season-high 18 points against Oregon in the semifinals ... started in place of Richard Midgley (knee) in the NCAA Tournament vs. North Carolina State (3 points) ... overall, earned eight starts as a rookie and averaged 9.1 ppg in those games ... claimed honorable mention Pac-10 All-Freshman honors in a vote of the league's coaches.
High School: Set De La Salle HS records for three-point percentage and overall field goal accuracy ... finished his career with 1,220 points ... named MVP of the Bay Valley Athletic League as a senior when he averaged 17.1 ppg and 6.3 rpg ... chosen first-team All-East Bay by the Contra Costa Times and second-team All-Bay Area by the San Francisco Chronicle ... scored a game- high 32 points in claiming MVP honors when he led the West All-Stars to a 106-93 win ove |
