2008:
Earned the starting tailback job in the spring as a redshirt frosh in '08. A brusing power runner, he has surprising burst for his size and is adept at gaining the corner. He has been oft-compared to BeaverGreat Steven Jackson...Ryan was impressive in spring and could be the next great Beaver back, joining a list of recent players that include Ken Simonton (1998-01/5,044 yds/2 in Pac-10), Yvenson Bernard (2004-07/3,862/6th) and Steven Jackson (2001-03/3,625/11th)...physical runner that reminds Beaver fans of Jackson...practiced with the first team throughout spring...rushed for 57 yards on 16 carries in the spring game.
