During his 2006 sophomore year, Cox had 64 tackles, eight sacks, three fumble recoveries and two forced fumbles.
Cox reports a 3.0 core GPA and a 19 ACT, which he is retaking in September.
Cox: "Most schools said that if I perform at linebacker the way I did at defensive end last year, that I'll definitely get an offer.
"One of the good things about being a little shorter is that I automatically get better pad level. I also go sideline-to-sideline well and can make plays all over the field.
"Even though I have pretty good field speed, I want to improve my quickness to the ball. I also need to study the game more. I don't watch much film and don't really prepare as much as I should. That's my goal for next season is to really watch film and study the game."
