| The 2002 Heisman Trophy winner. Carson has complete 906 of 1,548 passes for 11,515 yards along with 71 touchdowns and 49 interceptions. He is the All-Time Pac-10 total offense leader (one of many marks he now holds) and was also the winner of the Johnny Unitas Award this season.
Coming in to 2002: Palmer has all the intangibles that one is looking for in a quarterback and the time has come in his senior season for Carson to take his place among the elite signal callers in the nation.
Palmer ranks third on USC's career passing list, with 618 completions. He is also third on Troy's all-time total offense chart (7,801 yards), 12th on the Pac-10 career list. His 7,876 career passing yards are third-most in USC history and 11th in Pac-10 annals. His 39 career TD tosses are fourth most at USC and tied for 30th on the Pac-10 ladder. He is on pace to break Rob Johnson's USC career records for completions (676) and passing yards (8,472), as well as Rodney Peete's school career total offense yardage mark (8,640). He also is within range of Peete's career record for interceptions (42; needs 3 to tie) and pass attempts (1,081; needs 1 to tie). He owns the USC single game total offense record (419 yards at Oregon in 2001) and his 411 passing yards in that game were 4 shy of tying another school mark. He and Peete are the only Trojans to throw for 2,500-plus yards in 2 different seasons. With 32 career starts under his belt, he has completed at least 60.0% of his passes 15 times (including 6 contests at 70.0%-plus) and thrown for at least 200 yards 19 times.
