Spring practice opens Premium Story

On a chilly Monday afternoon at Memorial Stadium, the California football team began preparation for the 2008 season with its first day of spring practice. While the players mostly ran drills during the two-and-a-half hour session, many eyes were focused on the quarterbacks as Nate Longshore and Kevin Riley began their battle for the starting quarterback position.
