Because of the situational nature of Saturday's scrimmage, one has to be careful about reading too much into any statistics that might come from the game. The emphasis was on giving different units lots of work in an 11-on-11 situations. Consequently the offenses were always going up against varying defenses. Even with that cautionary note, Nate Longshore was the one quarterback who strengthened his case to be the starter in the September opener against Tennessee.
