In front of a record season-opening crowd of 58,949 at Memorial Stadium, the #12-ranked California Golden Bears fended off a pesky New Mexico State team, enroute to a 41-14 win. J.J. Arrington ran for 177 yards and three touchdowns, while Aaron Rodgers threw for 274 yards and two touchdowns.
