Tyler Fredrickson, who kicked the field goal that defeated USC in 2003 (and another that won the Insight Bowl), has created a video about Cal Football. The Bear Insider is pleased to be able to make DVD copies of his video available here.

First, listen to Tyler's description of the video in his own words by clicking here (audio).

Then, our summary: Fredrickson's video is an insider's look at team preparation for games, focusing on the last hours - in hotel and meeting rooms, and in locker rooms, that lead up to actual game time. The video brings a very human face to the guys on the field who are usually separated from fans by distance and football uniforms. It presents a distinctly personal look at guys like Aaron Rodgers, Vinny Strang, Geoff MacArthur and others as they prep for games - and includes a motivational moment when James Bethea works to inspire his teammates to beat USC that - especially if you are a Cal fan - will knock your socks off.

As Bruce Adams, Cal beat writer for the San Franscisco Chronicle said, "After watching that emotional display, I wanted to go out the front door to find a Trojan to knock down."

But do beware - this is a candid camera and can be quite raw at moments of high emotion - you'll want to keep the kiddies out of the room when you first view it.

Tyler has agreed to make this DVD available to Cal fans on a donation basis, and The Bear Insider is pleased to sponsor this effort by providing duplication, donation processing, and packaging/shipping assistance. Tyler requests that you consider a $10.00 donation per copy to help defray production costs plus a base cost of $5.00 to cover packaging and shipping. (Total $15.00)
