“When I plant, I plant, I go…it was my first game on turf I think that’s what it was,” said Brendon Bigelow (5-10, 180) whose Central team practices on grass not field turf.
“It was a stretch play and Merced knew it was coming, my knee just buckled. I got scared, but I’m okay.”
“It didn’t hurt at all. It felt like I sprained my leg. The Merced team doctor was there and he said my knee was strong. He said it was just the scar tissue. I just iced it and stood on the sidelines. I’m going to sit out and see how it heals.”
Bigelow tore his ACL last November in a CIF Central Section playoff game. “I knew I didn’t tear my ACL [again] because it’s a pain you don’t forget.”
As far as recruiting, he says is planning to take some official visits before making his final decision. Cal, Notre Dame, Tennessee, UCLA, and Washington are still on his list of schools.
