(5-11, 165) is a rising prospect in the West. Most major school in the country is sending him mail and invites to camps and junior days. When he caught up with him on Thursday afternoon, he was on his way to UCLA
for an unofficial visit. This weekend he plans to be at USC
for their junior day. At the end of this month, he has an invite to junior day at California
"I going to UCLA right now," said Hill. "USC has been recruiting me, Notre Dame, Georgia, LSU, Duke, Florida State, and Michigan."
He stopped at Michigan, but text us after the interview with some schools that were showing heavy interest. "Oklahoma, Utah, Clemson, and Nebraska are looking at me too," he added in the text.
Hill, who runs a 4.43 forty, is originally from Ohio so distance is not a factor. "Where ever I fit in the most, where ever I have a chance to come in to play and make an impact," he said of his criteria for choosing a school.
He has spent the last two and a half years in Ventura attending one of the top high school programs in the nation. He claims no favorites; however, he says as a kid Michigan was his "dream" school.
"Growing up it would have been Michigan," Hill said of his top school. "But with the whole coaching changes and stuff, and my brother (Taylor Hill) went there and transferred out. So, I don't think [I have a top school] right now."
Thus far, Arizona is the only school to have offered Hill.
"I got that during the season around our sixth game," said Hill. "The coach came up to the school, and my coach had told me before that they were going to give me an offer. After that, I saw the [Arizona] coach at the school and said, ‘yeah, we're going to offer you.' The next day I got the paper in the mail saying they are going to give me a scholarship."
He says the Wildcats have caught his eye along with the Bruins, Trojans, Irish, and UGA.
"I going up to Arizona in March [to visit] spring [practice]," Hill said. "I was invited to other [spring games and junior days] but there are time issues and other things like that."
Also on hold are unofficial visits to Georgia, LSU, Florida State, and California for junior days.
"I am not sure yet. I maybe going to Cal's junior day," said Hill. "I've been talking to Cal and they have been sending me letters. I'm going to attend one of their camps."
Hill says he will attempt to get to as many camps as possible this spring and summer. "I got plans," he said. "Got to go to a lot of them this year to see where I am and how I stack up against the better players."
"I'm going to the Arizona camp. I was supposed to be going to the Las Vegas [New Level/Badger] camp, but I am not sure yet. I have to attend the right one, which ones have the best receivers."
Fresno State, where his teammate J.B. Dock signed, is also showing interest, as was San Diego State.
"I talked to the Fresno State coach a while back and they said they are going to be checking me out in the spring," said Hill. "San Diego State was recruited me before their coaching change."
As for his next offer, Hill believes three schools are close. "UCLA maybe, SC I think so…Georgia I feel that one too," he said.
Hill reports a 2.2 core GPA. He says it is low because of his first year in high school but his grades have improved. "I have brought up my grades a lot," he added. "I take the SAT on March 14."
