The 100th Season of California basketball continues to be a positive one. The Golden Bears pulled out a hard fought victory over the University of Nevada Saturday afternoon.
The first half was not a good one for either team as both Cal and the Wolf Pack had a hard time finding any offensive flow. Settling mostly for outside shots and unable to finish when they did go to the basket, Cal shot only 36% before the break.
There was much better ball movement in the second half. Patrick Christopher scored a modest 16 points, however two of them came on a game clinching jam off a beautiful pass from Jerome Randle to give the Bears a 14-point lead.
Down the stretch, Randle was his usual clutch self. Scoring 17 of his team high 23 points in the second half.
Cal had no answer however for Nevada guard Armon Johnson. He scored a game and career-high 33 points. All of which seemed to come in the paint. He was penetrating at will. He moved his one-man show to the 3-point line and kept it interesting for everyone in attendance.
In the end The Bears won 75-66 and go to 8-2 on the season.

Theo Robertson is just the type of scrappy player that every team needs....Making tough shots and getting important rebounds.
The first half was full of outside shots and no ball movement...With not many scoring threats on offense, ball movement will be crucial to the teams success this year.
Jerome Randle and Patrick Christopher might be one of the best backcourt tandems in the Pac-10 by season's end.
