Andru Stewart (5-11, 196) started both ways for a great program in high school, Oaks Christian. He was named all-CIF in 2005 as a defensive back after recording three interceptions on the season. California was his favorite out of high school, but he received no collegiate offers. He opted to grayshirt in 2006, and decided to play at College of the Sequoias.
Stewart’s father, Michael, was an all-conference SS at Fresno State in the mid-80s. He went on to have a lengthy NFL career with the Los Angeles Rams. The younger Stewart has his eyes on the Pac-10. Cal and Oregon State are recruiting him the most along with Missouri and Minnesota. He would also like to hear from UCLA and Oregon.
He is expected to start at CB for a very talented defensive backfield at COS. He says schools want to see his first few games before offering him. Watch the interview with him for more details…
