Love is a prospect that has come on late after having missed his junior season with an injured tibia tendon. However, Love rebounded for a strong senior season, helping lead his Hamilton squad to the Arizona 5A state championship game where he was named MVP. Love also garnered All-State honors as well on the season.
"It was a good visit," said Love. "The coaches that recruited me, Coach (Ron) Gould and Coach (Todd) Littlejohn were very helpful. I got to know Coach Tedford a lot better too, and we had time to spend together.
Love is an excellent student, with a 3.8 GPA and plans to major in engineering.
"Cal is one of the best schools in the nation academically," said Love. "Cal and UCLA are pretty similar academically but Cal has a better engineering program.
"We toured the campus and got to talk to some of the professors and got to see what it's like to be a student there.
Love enjoyed all of his visits so far, including UCLA and Arizona and all are still among his favorites.
"There weren't a lot of students around at Cal right now but I liked the guys I met," said Love. "At UCLA, the kids are pretty nice, too."
Love is considering taking a final visit to Nevada, but also noted that he may forgo any more trips and make his choice in the near future.
Love is being recruited by Cal as a free safety.
