Cal Lands a Bruiser

Crenshaw (LA) fullback RJ Garrett became Cal's second verbal commitment during last week. The bruising 6-0, 233 lb. Garrett made his decision after session two of Cal's summer camp. Along with Mission Viejo's Chane Moline, Garrett is considered by many to be one of the best pure fullbacks on the West Coast.

"RJ is really quick for his size and he blocks his ass off," said Crenshaw Offensive Coordinator Eric Scott, laughing. "To be such a big guy, you'd think he'd just run you over every time and he's glad to do that. But he's also very elusive and has quick feet, so he's good at slipping tackles, too.
