PREMIUM MESSAGE BOARDS: More on Hufnagel

Per a report by Garry Parrish of CBS, California head basketball coach Cuonzo Martin has hired Yanni Hufnagel, an assistant at Vanderbilt, as his third assistant coach, joining Jon Harris and Tracy Webster and completing the coaching staff.

A representative of the Cal basketball program was unable to officially confirm or deny that the third assistant coaching position has been filled.

However, a source has confirmed to BearTerritory that Hufnagel has taken the job.

Hufnagel joined the Commodores in May of 2013 after spending four seasons at Harvard under Tommy Amaker, serving as the recruiting coordinator for the Crimson and working primarily with perimeter player development and opponent scouting.

In each of Hufnagel's four seasons with Harvard, the Crimson won at least 20 games, and over the last three seasons, posted three Ivy League titles.

Before Harvard, Hufnagel spent time as a graduate assistant for Oklahoma, organizing the program's database and conducting individual workouts. In his two seasons with the Sooners, Oklahoma won 53 games and advanced to the Elite Eight in 2008-09.

The 31-year old Hufnagel graduated from Cornell in 2006 with a degree in Industrial and Labor relations, and serving as a student assistant for the Big Red. Hufnagel earned his Master's of Education degree with an emphasis in Intercollegiate Athletic Administration at Oklahoma in 2010.
