The Fontana (Calif.) Summit four-star receiver, Erik Brown, flips his verbal to California...

Fontana (Calif.) Summit four-star receiver Erik Brown is still headed to the Pac-12.

But after committing to Washington in July at The Opening, Brown flipped his verbal to California on Wednesday morning.

"Erik has decided with the help of his mom that it was in his best interest to decommit from Washington and commit to the Cal Bears," said Armond Hawkins, his 7on7 coach with Ground Zero.

Brown had visited Cal earlier this month, his fourth official visit and the Bears left a big impression on him.

"The opportunity to stay close to home and to get an education from one of the top academic programs in the country was too much to pass up," said Hawkins.

Hawkins said that Cal receivers coach Rob Likens also impressed Brown.

"Coach Likens is a great recruiter and coach and somebody that can put Erik in the NFL," said Hawkins.

The decision to flip from the Huskies wasn't easy for Brown.

"It was a tough decision because the Washington coaching staff is also top notch and he had a great relationship with Coach (Eric) Kiesau," said Hawkins.

Brown has been selected to play in the Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl in January 2014.

Brandon is in his ninth year with Scout.com and FOX Sports, currently as a National Recruiting Analyst and West Regional Manager. Prior to joining the Scout Recruiting Team, he was a team recruiting writer.  He's been covering recruiting for the Scout Network since 2003.
