NLA 7on7: All-Tournament Underclass

Christian Kirk

A look at the top underclass performers in the NLA Elite 7on7 in Las Vegas...

QB Josh Rosen, Snoop Dogg All-Stars
In his third year in the event, Rosen was arguably the best quarterback in the tournament, but didn't get a chance to finish it out after his team was eliminated.  Still, on Saturday, he was the best quarterback throwing.

QB Tyler Hilinski, Body By Tra
Like Rosen, Hilinski is a three-time veteran of the event and was at his best during this tournament.  Also like Rosen, his team was eliminated earlier than expected but he put them in a position to win and have a nice run.

QB Holden Thomas, Frat Boyz
Just a freshman, Thomas helped the Frat Boyz make a surprising run to the quarterfinals and served notice that he's another youngster to watch.

RB Osa Masina, Utah One
Well put together, Masina looks like he could play a number of positions and offered a nice second option for Utah's offense to Dalton Schultz.

WR Christian Kirk, Those Guys
Teamed with Tyler Whiley to form one of the best 1-2 punches of receivers in the tournament.  Had a number of touchdowns on the opening day.

WR Desean Holmes, Eastbay Gamebreakers
The electric Holmes was one of the best weapons on his team during the tournament, a bright spot when the offense scuffled.

WR Nate Kelly, Frat Boyz
The big 6-4 receiver drew praise from the coaches for his play during the tournament and he's one to watch in the 2015 class.

DB Dayan Lake, Utah One
Was arguably the top defensive back on Utah's semifinal team, locking down the opponents top receiver.

DB Nicco Fertitta, Team 808
Had a great first day, doing well in coverage and breaking up a number of passes.

DB Chico McClatcher, NEI North
One of the best athletes in the event, McClatcher was strong all weekend at corner and also in catching passes.

DB, Tyler Porter, DB Guru
The nephew of former NLA standout Cliff Harris, few defensive backs showed the closing speed and ball skills that Porter did.

DB Soli Afalava, Hukilau Café
On a stacked team of upperclassmen, Afalava shined in the secondary for Hukilau.

DB Dalon Preston, DB Guru
Another strong performer for DB Guru's secondary, he was great in coverage all tournament.

DB Stanley Norman, Body By Tra
Already owning an offer from San Jose State, Norman played big all weekend and showed he's one of the top athletes in his class.

Greg Biggins, Jake Worthen and Brandon Huffman contributed to this report.
