BERKELEY -- In this edition of the Bear Republic Podcast, Scout.com and FOX Sports NEXT West Recruiting Analyst Brandon Huffman comes calling to break down the California football program’s Elite Junior Day on Saturday for half an hour.

We get scouting reports on the 15-plus slated attendees, as well as recruiting handicaps and the latest happenings on the recruiting trail, including a preview of the NLA 7-on-7 event in Las Vegas, which will see plenty of Bears targets hit the field, including Michiah Quick.

After our half hour with Huffman, we break down the latest happenings on the field for Cal during the first two spring practices, including the play of Mustafa Jalil and Nick Forbes on defense, and Kenny Lawler and Jeffrey Coprich on offense.

We also take an in-depth look at the quarterback battle between Zach Kline, Austin Hinder and Jared Goff, as well as the prospects for the other signal-callers on the roster.

With the home stretch in hoops upon us, we also talk a little roundball, including what the Bears have to do to secure a spot in the NCAA Tournament, and a good draw in the Pac-12 Tournament.
