Concord (Calif.) De La Salle three-star outside linebacker Victor Egu had 20+ offers when he committed to California.
But after the coaching change and uncertainty about his position in college, Egu made the decision to decommit from Cal.
"Cal just didn't need me at either linebacker or defensive end," said Egu. "They had other plans."
But Egu again, surprisingly, spurned the previous offers, to commit to Yale.
"It's a great education with options after," said Egu. "They needed me and wanted me. There is an opportunity to play early."
But football wasn't the primary reason for Egu to switch to Yale.
"It's mostly because of the opportunities after football is over," said Egu.
Egu was a Semper Fi All-American after helping the Spartans win their fourth straight CIF State Open Division title.
