Norvell, Sooners score big switch

OU wide receiver commit Dannon Cavil

NORMAN, Okla. — OU's strong push on the recruiting trails in recent weeks has continued Monday afternoon, as San Antonio Madison (Texas) HS wide receiver Dannon Cavil changed his commitment from California to OU.

"Committed to the University of Oklahoma,..enroll in the next couple of days," Cavil tweeted shortly before 5 p.m.

The 6-foot-4, 205-pound athletic wide receiver who could play as a physical, receiving tight end—think Jermaine Gresham, perhaps—was committed to Ole Miss before he pledged to Cal Dec. 15.

But his visit this weekend has changed that, and Cavil is now set to be the fourth receiver pledge in the 2013 class.

He joins K.J. Young, who committed Sunday, Austin Bennett and Jordan Smallwood.

All four are three-star prospects, and Cavil is the No. 121 prospect in the country at that position.
