Huskers make the cut with Sandland

Nebraska is looking for help at the tight end position. They already have high school standout Greg Hart, but have been recruiting a junior college tight end for immediate help. Today junior college tight end Beau Sandland announced his top five.

Beau Sandland from Los Angeles (Calif.) Pierce College has been working on paring his list. He crossed off an entire conference a few weeks ago and he had planned on announcing his top five on November 1.

"My top five in no particular order: Oklahoma, Nebraska, Arizona State, Texas Tech and Miami," Sandland said on his text message.

Sandland had planned on going from a top five to a top three, but he isn't sure if he will do that on December 1 like he had intended. He only said that he will more than likely trim his list again at a future date.

Sandland took an official to Nebraska on June 15th. That happened to be the same weekend for Big Red Weekend, which was another planned junior day, for all Nebraska recruits. Sandland left Nebraska impressed.

"I had a blast, obviously I had high expectations going in, but those were met and exceeded and I wish I didn't have to leave. All the players, all the staff all the recruiting personnel, the nutritionist, the strength and training guys, all great people and it was great how they approached it. I loved it; it couldn't have gone any better."

Nebraska commitment Johnny Stanton and his family made their way to see Sandland play in a game on October 13th. That was the same week as Nebraska's bye and the Nebraska coaching staff was also at Sandland's school that week as well.
