Final score: Utah 49, Cal 27
10:41 p.m. - Keenan Allen breaks the California career receptions record on a 23-yard touchdown, passing Geoff McArthur's mark of 202.
That's the only thing that has gone right for Cal, besides a 57-yard rushing touchdown by sophomore Brendan Bigelow.
Utah 49, Cal 20 with 7:45 left in the fourth quarter
9:20 p.m. -Travis Wilson plows in from five yards out for another Utah touchdown, and this one is pretty much over.
It's officially time to start considering replacements for Tedford, and don't be surprised if named under strong consideration start to emerge in the next week or so.
Utah 28, Cal 6 at the end of the second quarter
9:04 p.m. - Bothered by bad field position all night long, Cal has to punt from its own end zone, and Utah drives 49 yards for its first offensive score of the night on Kelvin York's one-yard plunge.
It certainly looks and feels like the Jeff Tedford era is officially over, especially as Zach Maynard is picked off.
Utah 21, Cal 6 with 6:33 left in the second quarter
8:39 p.m. - Cal again settled for a Vincenzo D'Amato field goal, this time from 38 yards, after miscommunication on third-and-12 results in a Zach Maynard incompletion.
Tight end Richard Rodgers had a terrific 51-yard catch-and-run to get the Bears into the red zone.
Utah 14, Cal 6 with 14:52 left in the second quarter
8:26 p.m. - Chris Harper fumbles on a screen deep in Cal territory, and Reggie Topps picks it up and takes it 17 yards for the Utah touchdown.
Bears are in deep trouble late in the first quarter, with the black-clad crowd getting really loud.
Utah 14, Cal 3 with 2:13 left in the first quarter
7:59 p.m. - A wild start here under the lights as Cal moves the ball well on its opening drive by running to the left away from Utah defensive tackle Star Lotulelei, before the drive stalls out with a run up the middle by Isi Sofele and incomplete pass from Zach Maynard lead to a 49-yard Vincenzo D'Amato field goal.
But Reggie Dunn zigs and zags through the Cal kick coverage team for a 100-yard touchdown, the second of his career.
Utah 7, Cal 3 with 12:33 left in the first quarter
7:28 p.m. - Cal will be desperately thin at outside linebacker this evening. Redshirt junior Dan Camporeale and redshirt freshman Nathan Broussard took reps with the first-team defense tonight, with redshirt freshman defensive end Todd Barr pressed into service as a backup.
6:28 p.m. - BREAKING: Outside linebacker Chris McCain (ankle) did not make the trip to Utah, while Brennan Scarlett (broken hand) is unlikely to start.
Defensive end Mustafa Jalil did not make the trip, as did inside linebacker Jalen Jefferson (concussion), though it was expected Jefferson would miss his second consecutive game.
6:20 p.m. - Greetings on a very crisp, but pleasant afternoon here in the Beehive State.
It's already been an eventful afternoon around the Pac-12, with some upsets and thrillers, but the breaking news regarding Cal is that offensive lineman Dominic Galas suffered a bout of appendicitis. We're waiting on more details, but he obviously will not play tonight.
Here is tonight's CSD On The Scene, which was shot before news of Galas' illness became public:
